It’s been quite a weekend for Queen’s Mile as it wins the Jury Award for Best British Short Film at Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival and was short listed for the Youth Jury award for Best British Film along side its nomination in the Best of British at the Iris Prize.
This LGBT film explores a twenty something girls journey down London’s Southbank. She’s not a tourist, her accent is a local one and her camera isn’t your standard digital, complete with selfie stick. Why is she taking photos with empty frames? And why today? And why in particular on The Queen’s Walk, along the Southbank? Queen’s Mile is a heartwarming story of a young woman’s courage in coping with depression, in her own unique way.
