Over the last few months, Plainclothes has been traveling the globe, reaching new audiences, connecting with communities, and bringing home accolades.

The had its International Premiere at SXSW London who described the film as a searing game of cat and mouse as Andrew and Lucas, two men who meet under strenuous circumstances: Andrew is illicitly cruising the bathrooms of a strip mall; Lucas is an undercover cop on an assignment to catch and arrest men just like him. Still, there is an immediate pull, their connection leading Lucas to confront a long-buried attraction to men, a wave of desire that will have the young cop put his entire life on the line. Superbly paced and acted, Plainclothes harnesses lo-fi VHS footage to play with voyeuristic, tense notions of surveillance, the film’s labyrinthine chronology amplifying this feeling of suspension as the two men become irrevocably, dangerously intertwined. Filmhounds Magazine calling it a “Painful But Necessary LGBTQ+ Tale”  ★★★★

It then went on to have its New York Premiere at NewFest where Out Magazine deemed it one of their “most excited to watch” at the festival.

At Provincetown International Film Festival, Plainclothes took home the Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature.

Most recently the recieved an Honourable Mention at Frameline, one of the oldest and one of the largest queer film festivals in the world.
